A memory from childhood
The following passage appears later in the book, on printed pages 23 and 24.
There was a room in the old farmhouse where an old upright piano sat with a picture of his biological mother on the top. As a very young boy, he would find himself in that room many times standing in front of that piano just staring up at her picture. He was trying to figure out and remember in his little mind what his mother was like because he was so very young when she passed away..
Our family would sometimes attend this little country church, but as he reached the age of approximately twelve or thirteen he decided within himself that he was no longer going to go to church. And he didn’t. Why he was allowed to make this decision and was not made to attend church with his family is still unknown.
